Teen Night at the Institute of Contemporary

Yarisa Vasquez - On November 12, 2010, a group of Teens from our center went to the Institute of Contemporary Art for their Teen Night. There were excellent live performers, food and drinks, and after the performances came an amazing party. The night started off calming with the live entertainment that was performed by Teens from the Greater Boston area. The teens were all super talented. The music was very diverse; it ranged from country, to pop, to rap and R&B. The first act that we saw was a young teen girl who sang beautiful country music and played the banjo. Next, there was a group of singers that were from Lexington High school. They all had wonderful voices but what caught my eye was that they had a beat boxer to do their bass for all their songs! He was very good at his job and made the song seem as if you were listening to the song on the radio. Next, there was a group of dancers from the Eastern Mass. area. They are one of the best dancing groups in Massachusetts and they are so good that they are competing at the national level. The last performer was a great teen hip hop rapper who is from Boston.  He was an awesome rapper and is very professional at what he does. He had a good sense of the crowd and turned out to be a real crowd pleaser. After all the performers were done, the party began. There was a DJ and everyone was dancing and having a good time. The music was great and the company was even better. Natasha and Alex were the Gately staff that accompanied. They enjoyed themselves and just let us do our thing. At the end of the night, we all headed home tired and happy that we were able to go to the ICA that night.
